The Urgent Reality: 23 Langley Youth Face Life-Threatening Cold
As winter’s grip tightens on Langley, a quiet crisis is intensifying: 23 of our community’s most vulnerable youth are currently unsheltered. For a child or teen on the street, the cold isn't just uncomfortable—it’s life-threatening. Every day we delay securing essential supplies is a day we risk an irreversible tragedy.
At LuckeLife, we refuse to stand by. We are launching the Warmth & Wellness Campaign to ensure these 23 young people are not only safe tonight but have a path toward stability tomorrow.
Our Immediate Call: The Expanded 20-Item Extreme Weather Pack
Our goal is to sponsor 100 comprehensive packs to cover the immediate needs of all identified youth and create a reserve for future crises. We are asking the community to fund these life-saving resources.
The Ask: $85 to Sponsor One Extreme Weather Pack
This expanded 20-item pack is engineered to provide maximum insulation and protection against severe cold, reducing the risk of hypothermia and frostbite.

Beyond Charity: This is an Economic Risk-Mitigation Strategy
The most compelling reason to invest in a pack today isn't just compassion—it's fiscal responsibility. Our work is built on the proven Icelandic Prevention Model (IPM), which is focused on high Social Return on Investment (SROI).
The SROI Breakdown: $1 Invested Saves $7.50
Research confirms that proactive, preventative intervention costs far less than reactive crisis management:
The Cost of Inaction: When a youth endures a life-threatening crisis in the cold, the community absorbs costs for emergency services, emergency hospital room visits, long-term mental health services, policing, and judicial involvement. We estimate that for every $85 pack we fail to deliver, the community absorbs over $467.50 in projected emergency costs during a severe weather event.
The Power of Prevention: Your $85 investment doesn't just provide warmth; it connects a youth to our long-term stability programs. Based on the IPM model's track record, every $1 invested in our prevention infrastructure saves the community $7.50 in downstream social costs.
Your investment of $85 is the difference between a high-cost community crisis and a strategic $1:$7.50 return.
The Full Picture: Warmth & Wellness
We know that survival is only the first step. That’s why we pair every Extreme Weather Pack ($85) with a Holiday Uplift Pack ($25) focused on mental health, dignity, and personal connection.
A full Warmth & Wellness Pair is a $110 investment that covers a youth's entire journey from crisis to counseling.
We are appealing to local businesses and residents to help us reach our target of 100 full pairs.
